Bustowniczki Are Coming Back to Warsaw!

News date: 4 March 2026

Free Breast Ultrasound Screenings – Take Care of Your Health!

Illness doesn’t choose the right moment, and prevention is key to the early detection of many health problems, including breast cancer. 🩺💖

The “Bustowniczki” campaign, organized by the Fundacja Nie Warto, is returning to Warsaw on March 28–29, 2026. Screenings will take place from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at G City Promenada.

The event is part of a nationwide tour covering 11 cities in spring 2026.

Why Is It Worth Getting Checked?

  • Early diagnosis saves lives – Breast cancer can affect women of any age, and when detected early, it is much easier to treat. 🎗️
  • Free screenings – Breast ultrasound examinations are provided without a referral, without National Health Fund (NFZ) insurance, and without medical documentation.
  • Stress-free and painless – The examination is safe, painless, non-invasive, and takes about 15 minutes. Results are provided immediately after the exam.
  • No registration required – First come, first served.

Who Is It For?

The screenings are intended for women aged 18–35.

Due to the preventive screening nature of the program, examinations are not available for pregnant women or individuals undergoing hormone therapy (e.g., IVF procedures).

What Does the Campaign Look Like?

  • Two fully equipped mobile ultrasound units ensuring comfort and privacy
  • Examinations conducted by female doctors
  • The only required document is a signed consent form
  • It is recommended to remove jewelry from the breast and underarm areas the day before the examination

Education and Prevention

Bustowniczki is not only about screenings but also about education.

During the event, participants will be able to speak with educators and learn how to properly perform breast self-examinations. Regular and mindful self-exams help detect concerning changes early and encourage timely medical consultation.

Why Is This So Important?

Breast cancer is increasingly affecting young women. Risk factors include genetic and environmental predispositions. Early detection significantly increases treatment effectiveness and reduces the risk of serious health consequences.

During previous editions, 7,995 individuals were screened, and 162 cases requiring urgent further diagnostics were detected.

Participant surveys show that:
• Only every second young woman regularly monitors her breast health
• 60% of participants had their first-ever ultrasound during the campaign
• One in four participants would not have chosen preventive screening if not for Bustowniczki
