Second edition of the Halina Konopacka Classic athletics meeting

News date: 20 May 2026

On June 7, 2026, the second edition of the Halina Konopacka Classic athletics meeting will take place at the OSiR Praga-Południe Stadium on Podskarbińska Street in Warsaw. This unique sporting event is dedicated to the memory of Poland’s first Olympic gold medalist, Halina Konopacka.

In line with the spirit of the meeting, only female athletes will compete — including the biggest stars of Polish athletics as well as international competitors. Confirmed participants include Ewa Swoboda, for whom this will be the first competition of the season, and Pia Skrzyszowska, a medalist at the World Indoor Championships. The event will also feature, among others, Justyna Święty-Ersetic and Jamaican athlete Megan Tapper.

The competition program includes twelve athletics disciplines, featuring sprint and middle-distance races, hurdle races, long jump, high jump, javelin throw, shot put, and a memorial discus throw event. Children’s races will also accompany the main competition program.

The Halina Konopacka Classic is not only a high-level sporting competition, but also an initiative promoting women’s sports, the history of Polish Olympism, and the values represented by Halina Konopacka herself — determination, courage, and patriotism. Admission to the event is free of charge, and there are no age restrictions for spectators, giving the event an open and family-friendly atmosphere.
